Reiki Program

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing.  It is administered by "laying on hands" and the word Reiki means "Universal Life Energy".  It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.  If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.  Reiki facilitates healing on multiple levels.

Veterans for Diversity has partnered with Milwaukee Reiki, LLC  to provide Reiki sessions and classes to Military personal and veterans who would like to explore this complimentary treatment.

One study, led by the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in San Diego, California, conducted from July 2008 to August 2010 showed that healing touch therapy (such as Reiki) combined with guided imagery produces significant measurable reductions in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms for combat-exposed active duty soldiers.  Writing in the journal Military Medicine the researchers say they found that patients receiving these complementary medicine interventions showed significant improvement in quality of life, as well as reduced depression and cynicism when compared to soldiers receiving treatment as usual (TAU) alone.

Jeffrey Montoya, Principal Reiki Master-Teacher, at Milwaukee Reiki, LLC has agreed to provide a complimentary Reiki session to anyone interested in exploring Reiki referred by Veterans for Diversity.  To request a referral please fill out the form and you will be contacted by Milwaukee Reiki to schedule your session or answer any questions.

On the Registration Form, In Comments section, include a description of what you would like to work on with Reiki or any questions.

This program is FREE to veterans.
